Collective Description
Ice Time Theatre Collective
Life on the Edge
This innovative work is inspired and brought to stage through the collaboration of an
exciting all Saskatchewan creative team. |
At center (stage) is Megan Leach, an emerging Saskatchewan talent who is no rookie to the
stage or the hockey rink. With professional theatre, film and dance experience and a recent
convocation from the University of Regina Theatre Program, Megan is also an
accomplished athlete, competing at provincial and University levels in a variety of sport. Megan believes strongly in the ability of theatre and the performing arts to be a
tool of change. Megan hopes to touch and inspire new audiences with the story and journey
of Lanni while discovering her own.
On left wing is Simon Moccasin a performer, poet, playwright, STAGE HAND, teacher but most importantly a father. He has joined team Leach because he believes in the storyline. He has known the cast and crew for some time now and is looking forward to travelling with such an esteemed group. A great friend and a funny guy, stay tuned for Simon's great work all around Saskatchewan.
On the right wing is Don List president of the Regina based Birdsong Communications Ltd.
With a host of National Broadcasting Experience, Don has agreed to oversee this creative
production as both a facilitator and film maker following the journey of Learning the
Game from its humble beginnings in a Student Infringement festival, to its professional
touring of Saskatchewan high schools and is enthused to support an application of
Learning the Game to the 2010 Cultural Olympiad Celebration.
On the Home bench is John Huston, a director/actor with Saskatoon ties. John, who is the founder of By the Book Productions, is excited to join Learning the Game after the first round of drafting and performances. This is John's sixteenth season as a professional theatre artist and an impassioned enthusiast for the word play of theatre, John's fresh outlook and international experience infuses cultural diversity and wisdom to this young piece.
In the stands is Janice Salkeld, a member of the Saskatchewan Playwright’s
Association, former teacher, veteran hockey mom, and an enthusiast of theatre as a
creative model for education and change. Janice is excited to bring voice to the
personal and universal penalties one faces when plagued with a learning disability.
